Or can anyone tell me where to find one and how much? I've gone to Napa and Autozone and came up empty.

I am told the snap-on part is like $6,245,178.92, or it's about $100 at Harbor Freight Tools (newark), or about double that at Sears. just need an air tank with that, should come with the fittings. btw, I need one too

I don't have one, but have used one on my car twice before.
A leak down tester fills the cylinder with about 100 psi when the piston is at top dead center and measures how much of that 100 psi "leaks down" past the rings, valves, head gasket, ect. They say you want less than 7ish% to leak down for a motor to be healthy enough for a power adder. Mine is four times that

Good info Sawson. Ordered one yesterday from Summit. The verdict will be in on Friday. Then onto getting it up and running again.

You should just pull your heads and save your time cause your gonna end up taking them off ayn how. If you got poor compression and it's not valve train related then it's most likely the head gasket. Mine pushed from cylinder to cylinder leaving me W/ low compression on two cylinders and a bad MISS. Never used any water or got hot. It just had a bad MISS.

Problem is you didn't rule out the rings. My rings went. Aside from a leak-down, there was no way for me to tell. Even if I pulled the pistons I wouldn't know what to look for/how to check them. I didn't do a leak down, but I wanted a stronger bottom end anyway, so off it went to the shop.
Besides, precision tools are sweet! I just picked up a cam degreeing kit.
